Back into the Swing...

Well I have returned from the globally imposed sabbatical that is known as the Christmas break. Now I could go all philosophical about re-birthing and re-creation. I hate to say it but the old adage, "a break will do you good" is quite possibly true. Mind you the many breaks I have had in the past have resulted in me rolling off the wagon and into a plate of chips and gravy. Believe it or not I did Christmas in moderation. I drank in moderation and I ate a little of everything. But have found myself firmly place back on the road to my goals in the last week and a half. In fact I think I have been bitten by the bug.

Today I ran about 7 km in about 35-40 minute. (I really need to get myself a stop watch and probably a heart rate monitor now). I know it sounds serious, but hey this is serious stuff. I have to plan my weekly regime. At the moment. It is running 6km circuit at least three times a week. I have decided that running is the priority. Gym two to three times a week and a 1 or 2 day break. 60 push ups and 60 sit ups daily. Sorry baby, but those love handles are going on holidays. Hopefully a very long one.

Since Saint Nick was generous enough to bring my daughter a new bike and Joe has inherited her old BMX the kids are now big enough to join me on shorter runs of 5km and under. a couple of times a week. Initially a few hiccups with them keeping up but I now spend a few of my precious breaths getting them to stay in eyesight as they ride off into the sunset.

So now I embark in earnest to achieve my goal. Problems encountered at the moment is rain and broken Ipod. Minor and insignificant. A bout of Gastro served as nothing more then a path to achieving pre chrissy wieght. This is a good week.

Goal Achieved: 5-6 minute Km's over longer distances.
Attempt: the trial first leg of the pyramid with Euan this weekend.... Lets see if I can keep my legs.
